Article Body: If you are sun burnt and are in an extreme amount of pain, there are a couple of things that you can do.

First off, if you feel that you are severely burnt and may have sun poisoning, you will want to go see a doctor immediately. Your doctor will be able to put you on the fastest road to recovery, while also prescribing medication and lotions that will help to fight the pain.

If you don’t think that you need to see a doctor, you have a couple of other options available to you. The first thing that you can try is an over the counter pain relief medicine such as Tylenol or aspirin.

In addition to taking medication, you will also want to buy a high quality lotion or spray that you can apply directly to your sunburn. When searching for a lotion, look for one that has aloe vera. This ingredient will go a long way in speeding up the recovery process.

If you are simply looking for short term pain relief there may be no better option than cold compresses. You can do this by soaking a towel in cold water, and then placing it on the effected areas. If you are sun burnt all over, simply soak in a cold bath to relieve your pain.

When you are trying to relieve the pain, make sure that you do not do anything that will make it worse. This includes picking at your skin, or trying to pop blisters. By doing this you will only make your condition worse, and may also cause scarring.

Finding sunburn pain relief does not have to be a difficult task. If you have a serious case you will want to seek out the advice of a doctor. If not, you can simply resort to the tips above to treat your condition.
